Hannah Benedict Carter Chapter
New Canaan, Connecticut
Daughters of the American Revolution

Welcome to the
 Hannah Benedict Carter Chapter,
National Society Daughters of the American Revolution

The Hannah Benedict Carter Chapter is located in the town of New Canaan, Connecticut. Members that attend meetings live in New Canaan, Ridgefield, Redding, Danbury, Wilton, Westport and Stamford. This chapter was founded in 1894 and has spent the last 120 years making a difference in the town's, county's and state community.

The DAR, founded in 1890 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better education for children.

DAR members volunteer more than 60,000 hours annually to veteran patients, award over $150,000.00 in scholarships and financial aid each year to students, and support schools for the underprivileged with annual donations exceeding one million dollars.

Our meetings are held on the second Thursday of the month September through June.  Click on the membership link below for more information about coming to a meeting and/or joining our chapter.
